Stunned Silence

Doesn't happen very often that I have not much to say.  But, this trip Southward on New Zealand's South Island West Coast has been beautiful.  I'm just going to leave these pictures right here and let you fend for yourself today.

Highway 6 Coastline.

Pancake Rocks, In a rush trying to avoid an oncoming rain bomb.

Franz Joseph and Fox Glacier Territory.  Unique in all the world to have glaciers run downward into temperate jungle before rolling into the ocean.

Okarito Bay, where you can hear Kiwi calls in the night.

More beautiful stops, here and there.

Haast Beach - Picnic with one of New Zealand's tasty rose wines, cheese, crackers, a patient but persistent seagull and 14,000,000 sandflies.  Wooly socks and coat not for weather but sandfly defense.

Waterfall stops along the road between Haast and our next destination.

Freezing cold Glacier made "Blue Pools".  Brisk, but Andrew just can't resist a swim.

Andrew's "ITS COLD" face.

And, we arrive on Lake Hawea, just in time to kick off Andrew's Birthday.
